Exel Composites Signs Cooperation with BMW

BMW, one of the world’s leading premium manufacturers of automobiles, has selected Exel Composites as a technology partner to develop next generation carbon fiber –reinforced parts for passenger cars.  

The world-renowned automobile manufacturer BMW has been investing in the development of lighter and more fuel-efficient vehicles for a number of years. BMW is the first car-manufacturer using Carbon Fibre -technologies for serial production in their i3 and i8 models. BMW has chosen Exel Composites, a leading supplier of lightweight and durable composite solutions, as a technology partner for the development of carbon fibre -reinforced parts for next generation passenger cars.  
 
The co-operation agreement covers the development and delivery of complex carbon and carbon/glass hybrid profiles for automotive applications. The value of the agreement is not disclosed.
