The Italian companies ACS (Advanced Composites Solutions) Srl, specialized in the design and serial production of carbon fiber components for the automotive, marine and aerospace sectors (as well as publisher of our portal), and FOL Srls, expert in precision mechanical machining, announce the start of a strategic partnership aimed at relaunching Promec, the historic Italian racing brand.
For many years Promec represented a benchmark in the Italian motorsport scene, standing out for advanced technical solutions and for its contribution to the development of sports prototype cars destined for hill climb competitions. Under the guidance of engineer Gianfranco Trombetti, the brand established itself as a synonym for design expertise, innovation and passion for motorsport, leaving behind a valuable technical and sporting legacy.
The partnership between ACS and FOL, both based in the province of Teramo in Abruzzo (ACS in Tortoreto and FOL in Ancarano), was created with the aim of inheriting this legacy and projecting it into a new industrial and sporting phase.
The project involves the design and production of an E2-SC category racing car, named “PJ26”, intended for the Italian Hill Climb Championship (“Campionato Italiano Velocità Salita”). The program has already reached important technical milestones, including the homologation of the chassis and crash-box, fundamental elements for safety and performance.
The possibility of ensuring continuity by involving former Promec designers is also being studied, assigning them the task of developing a specific setup for hill climb racing.
“Our goal is to restore Promec to the role it deserves in the history of Italian motorsport, enhancing a brand that has expressed technical excellence and design vision,” says Giovambattista Di Guardia, owner of FOL. “This initiative represents a structured industrial project based on complementary skills and a clear development strategy.”
“The relaunch of Promec,” adds Roberto Catenaro, CEO of ACS, “is founded on the desire to combine tradition and innovation. Providing our expertise in advanced composite materials for a new-generation racing car means continuing the technical spirit that made this brand a reference in the past.”
Below is the technical sheet of the “PJ26”.
