Italian company Composite Research has announced the launch of “Relight,” a new composite metamaterial designed for high-performance industrial applications. The official presentation took place place during JEC World 2026, one of the leading international events dedicated to composite materials.
The new material combines high mechanical performance, flame-retardant behavior and enhanced sustainability through the use of a bio-based hardener. According to the Turin-based company, the technology has been engineered to meet different thermal and structural requirements across industrial, aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Composite Research is seeking partnerships with industrial groups and technology suppliers to develop pilot projects and co-development initiatives. The announcement highlights the growing dynamism of the Italian advanced composites ecosystem, increasingly focused on sustainable materials and high-performance composite architectures.
