GITEX Africa Morocco 2027 is expanding into advanced manufacturing with the launch of the new Future Manufacturing & Robotics Pavilion, taking place from 26 to 28 April 2027 in Marrakech. The new area will focus on technologies supporting the continent’s industrial transformation, including automation, robotics, digital twins, Industrial IoT, smart factories, additive manufacturing, supply chain technology and predictive maintenance.
The initiative comes at a time of strong growth in African manufacturing capacity, particularly in Morocco. According to figures released by the organisers, Morocco produced more than one million vehicles in 2025, making it Africa’s largest automotive producer, while automotive exports exceeded $12 billion.
Investment in electric mobility is further strengthening this industrial base. In Kénitra, Gotion High-Tech is developing what is set to become Africa’s first major integrated EV battery gigafactory, beginning with an investment of around $1.3 billion and expected to expand significantly in later phases.
For manufacturing technology suppliers, the new pavilion is intended to connect exhibitors with manufacturing, operations and procurement leaders sourcing robotics, automation, Industry 4.0 systems, materials handling and quality-control technologies.
The development is also relevant to the composites industry, as Morocco’s expanding automotive and aerospace supply chains create growing demand for more automated, repeatable and high-productivity manufacturing processes.
With its fifth edition, GITEX Africa is therefore extending its scope beyond purely digital technologies, linking software, artificial intelligence and connectivity with the physical production systems reshaping African industry.
