Henniker Plasma has introduced its new Stratus Plasma Manufacturing Cells, a production-scale solution designed to bring repeatable plasma surface treatment into high-volume manufacturing environments. The system addresses one of the key challenges in advanced manufacturing: maintaining consistent surface treatment across every component throughout extended production runs.
Plasma treatment cleans engineering materials at the molecular level while increasing surface energy, significantly improving adhesion for structural bonding, coatings and printing applications. In industrial production, however, maintaining process consistency is often more critical than achieving treatment performance itself.
According to Henniker Plasma, Stratus has been engineered to deliver stable treatment parameters over long production cycles, reducing adhesion variability, minimizing delamination risks and decreasing the need for rework. The result is higher first-pass yield and improved manufacturing reliability.
The system is intended for industries where surface quality is essential, including aerospace, automotive, medical devices, electronics and precision engineering.
