Hexcel recognized by Embraer for composite materials in aircraft

The award was announced on April 20, 2026 and highlights the contribution to commercial and business aviation programs

Advanced materials manufacturer Hexcel has been named “Best Supplier of the Year” by Embraer, one of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers. The award highlights the strategic role of advanced composite materials in modern aircraft structures.

For decades, Hexcel has supplied carbon fiber, prepregs and honeycomb structures used across multiple Embraer platforms, including commercial aircraft and business jets. These materials enable significant weight reductions while maintaining high structural strength, improving fuel efficiency, range and operating costs.

As aerospace manufacturers pursue more efficient aircraft, the use of composites in both primary and secondary structures continues to expand. Long-term collaborations between material suppliers and OEMs are therefore essential to sustain production rates and support technological innovation.

The recognition underscores the growing importance of composite materials in the future of aviation, where lightweight structures remain a key driver for next-generation aircraft development.
