A new step forward in the sustainable use of composite materials is emerging from the high‑performance cycling sector. Bicycle component manufacturer Parcours has introduced a new wheelset designed with reclaimed carbon fiber, demonstrating how composite recycling can support the development of high‑performance products with a lower environmental impact.
The new Strade GT wheelset integrates VibraCORE technology, which uses reclaimed carbon fiber to enhance the dynamic behavior of the wheels. The solution is designed to reduce the transmission of road vibrations to the rider, with an estimated reduction between 19% and 23%. This improvement increases comfort during long rides while maintaining the high stiffness and responsiveness required for performance cycling.
The initiative highlights how the composites industry is exploring circular economy models in which advanced materials such as carbon fiber can be recovered and reintegrated into new high‑performance products. In the lightweight mobility sector, such solutions represent an important step toward greater sustainability without compromising the technical characteristics demanded by professional and enthusiast cyclists.
