Microtex Composites – a Tuscan company belonging to the historical Becagli group, producing carbon fiber composites – is finishing the construction of the new headquarter located in the province of Pistoia. The relocation will be within September 2021.
The new 8.000 sqm-area will house offices, 4-line production departments and weaving. Furthermore, a new state of the art refrigerator area: one of the largest on the market, able to store 180.000 sqm of prepregs. Once these materials have been produced they require storage at -18°C in order to preserve their original features and out-life.
At the present, the company employs 60 people about. Even if 2020 has been a tough year due to the pandemic, Microtex Composites registered a positive trend regarding staff growth and turnover.
Gianfranco Meschini (Sales Director) says: “The company is going through a significant growth and the current production place was not suitable anymore. This kind of investment allow us to be even more competitive in order to match market’s and customers’ needs. Therefore, with the new refrigerator area we will be able to supply our customer quickly, increasing our storage capacity.”

Microtex Composites is a company belonging to the historical Becagli group that has specialized in the textile production since the end of the second world war. Microtex was founded in 1990 for the production of traditional fabrics, such as microfibers, and coated materials and gradually joined this activity with the innovative idea of composite materials.
Nowadays the group consists of two companies: the original company dedicated to the production of traditional fabrics and Microtex Composites S.r.l. specialized in the manufacture of structural and aesthetic composites, both dry and prepreg.

Carbon fibre manufactures are also successfully applied to building, industrial and interior design sectors.
Furthermore, Microtex Composites boasts cutting-edge technologies and ultimate chemical research laboratories. The production capacity is over 2.500.000 square meters/year of carbon fibre materials.
