Nova Carbon and CMP Composites have launched a collaboration focused on closed-loop carbon fiber recycling, aiming to recover production offcuts and convert them into new high-performance materials. The French startup will collect and recycle offcuts generated by CMP Composites, reintegrating the material into new composite applications.
The initiative is particularly relevant because it addresses one of the most critical challenges in the composites industry: managing production waste and end-of-life materials. Recovering carbon fiber can reduce waste, energy consumption and reliance on virgin fiber while maintaining performance levels suitable for technical applications.
The project confirms the growth of circular solutions in composites, especially across energy, industrial and mobility sectors where carbon fiber use is increasing but must become more sustainable.
