Composite manufacturing technologies are rapidly evolving to meet industrialization requirements across mobility and aerospace sectors. In this context, Roctool introduced a new processing technology called Roctool Thermal Fusion (RTF) at JEC World 2026, designed to consolidate thermoplastic composite components directly inside the mold.
The technology allows multiple structural composite elements to be integrated during a single molding step, reducing part count and eliminating secondary assembly operations. This approach improves structural quality while increasing manufacturing efficiency, a key requirement for large‑scale composite production.
The live demonstration presented during the exhibition uses a dedicated mold developed to replicate real industrial applications intended for serial manufacturing. The technology targets multiple sectors including automotive, aerospace, defense and industrial equipment.
According to the company, combining consolidation and assembly within a single manufacturing step represents an important step toward scalable production of lighter, more integrated and more sustainable composite structures.
