Scintillab, a new educational project to promote STEM skills

Ferrari launches an innovative project dedicated to promoting STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) among students in Italian primary schools

Ferrari is strengthening its commitment to education and the new generations with the launch of Scintillab, an innovative project dedicated to promoting STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) among students in Italian primary schools.

Created in collaboration with the Agnelli Foundation and with the scientific contribution of the CNR (National Research Council), Scintillab was born to make science accessible, engaging, and meaningful from the earliest years of school.

The project, which is free and aimed at teachers and students, offers in-person training for teachers and a ready-to-use educational box designed to turn every classroom into a discovery laboratory. Through an inquiry-based methodology, Scintillab stimulates curiosity, reasoning, and creativity, guiding children to observe, formulate hypotheses, experiment, and verify, thus fostering a genuine encounter with the scientific method.

The ready-to-use classroom activities provided in the educational box cover five themes: shadows, balance, gravity, probability, and scientific investigation.

In its first edition, Scintillab already involves 61 comprehensive schools, 238 teachers, and 4,700 students in the provinces of Cuneo, Savona, Modena, Parma, Ancona, and Matera, with the goal of reaching 800 teachers, 300 schools, and 15,000 students over the next two years, expanding the project to new areas.

Scintillab is part of Ferrari’s broader commitment to supporting educational projects in the local communities and beyond, with the aim of fostering innovation and the growth of new generations, focusing on the provinces of the country. As Michele Antoniazzi, Chief Human Resources Officer of Ferrari, points out: “Ferrari recognizes education as a pillar of its identity, deeply rooted in its history. Scintillab is one of the initiatives through which we concretely support new generations, promoting STEM subjects from primary school. These are the foundation of the scientific approach that we consider essential, first and foremost within our company, to innovate and continuously improve.
