On 12 November 2026, the European Convention Center Luxembourg (ECCL) will host SCMM Industry Day 2026, organised by the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) and dedicated to sustainable composite materials and advanced manufacturing for the future of mobility.
The 2026 edition marks an important milestone for the SCMM Innovation Centre, with the successful completion of its first phase. The programme will therefore focus strongly on results, demonstrators and real industrial impact, showing how research-industry collaboration can be translated into practical applications.
Keynote speakers will include Marc Fette, CEO of the Composite Technology Center, an Airbus company, and Roberto Frassine, President of EUCIA. Strategic sessions will address topics including scaling sustainable composite solutions, industrialisation challenges and future innovation roadmaps.
A central part of the event will be the joint industry-research presentations, where industrial partners and LIST researchers will showcase project outcomes, technology development and real-life applications. Projects will include hydrogen tanks, automotive body panels, lightweight seats and satellite panels.
The Tech Village will give visitors the opportunity to see demonstrators developed within the SCMM programme, while dedicated B2B matchmaking and networking sessions will connect industrial leaders, R&D experts, technology providers and public stakeholders.
The SCMM Innovation Centre was created to accelerate the development and industrial adoption of ultra-lightweight, low-carbon, bio-based and recyclable composite materials, supporting co-development across the full value chain, from material formulation and manufacturing processes to functional demonstrators.
The event will therefore also serve as a bridge towards the next phase of the programme, fostering new partnerships and helping move sustainable composite technologies closer to industrial deployment.
